Leadership & Management in a Dental Practice

for Practice Leaders and Managers and those being developed towards more responsibility

"Dear Rick, James and all at Impetus Training - a huge thank you for the course in the Peak District last week and for making my birthday one of the nicest ones I have ever had. Don and I have taken so much back with us from the ideas, confidence building and amazing way of helping us oldies think outside the box."

People Management in a Dental Practice

Books and theories are OK, but what are the REALITIES of managing a dental practice team? Some examples......

Workshops for small numbers (1 to 4) or personal coaching are tailor-made to the realities and the following modules......

Rick Whitehead's talent is to both present for understanding the principles of, for example, the formal appraisal or discipline interview, AND then relate the theories to the actual current job challenges of the person/people being coached. Rick will always leave you with an Action Plan and Behaviour Checklist on HOW to improve performance and results - of your people and yourself!

Happy Practices

Delegates are briefed in advance to prepare “Case Studies” of people (anonymous) and / or current strategic challenges. They then work with these on their course to design solutions and action plans - learning how to USE the principles presented. (see example agenda on right)

This course is not about theory; it is about WHAT TO DO, the actions to take, to maximise teamworking and productivity in a dental practice - working with (on the course, and then afterwards in the practice) the

7 Responsibilities of a Dental Practice Team Leader.

It is also an invigorating and very enjoyable experience - relax, “recharge your batteries” and return refreshed and super-confident!

for Dentists, Practice Managers and others with people responsibilities

Tailor-Made Courses and Workshops

These are always thoroughly researched by Rick Whitehead who will visit the practice or practices to consult as many of the team as possibel before sitting down with management to agree a programme designed 100% to meet their needs, objectives and ambitions.

A self catering (teambuilding as well as leadership) experience at Great Tower Scout Camp, Windermere in the Lake District (in our well equipped chalet - not tents!) or Losehill Hall YHA in the Peak District (in our provate West Mews)

our course programme for 2018 is complete, but please contact us to register interest for 2019 - you may even influence where and when!

But not luxury either - be prepared to share a room (maximum 4 to a room) and muck into cooking, washing up, etc - AND cook your evening meal as part of a Leadership task
